Macy's Heart of Haiti Holiday Stars #CleverHaiti

The stars of my life will always be my children.
Stars light up your life and my children
light up my life in ways I sometimes still
do not understand.
I know that I will spend many many days with
these children and the many different
personalities between them.
I cherish that thought.
Everyday with them is something new, exciting and yes
even sometimes crazy.

I received recently from the #cleverhaiti campaign
a beautifully handmade star crafted by
a Haitian artist.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere
and even with the devastating earthquake, the people of
Haiti continue to be filled with hope and desire
to improve their lives.
The Heart of Haiti artists keep that hope alive by creating
these one of a kind artistic pieces.
You can buy beautifully handcrafted Heart of Haiti items at your local Macy's
The collection features more than 40 home decor items including
quilts, metalwork, jewelry and paintings all made
almost entirely from recycled and sustainable items such as
old cement bags, cardboard, oil drums and local gommier wood.

I know that everyone has that one person in your life that has everything
and is hard to shop for.
What a better gift idea than to give the gift that keeps on giving.
Not only are you buying a beautiful handcrafted item but you
will also be supporting the rebuilding of Haiti.
Macy’s Heart of Haiti upholds the belief that “trade not aid”
is a powerful way to create sustainable
work and much needed financial opportunities.

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own. #CleverHaiti

Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures Volume 3 (Holiday gift guide)

Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures Volume 3
Own it on DVD today!
Synopsis: Take one blue and white domestic cat. Add one small brown house mouse. Mix in a handful of chases, stir in a few falling anvils and top off with one brutish bulldog named Spike. Yields 14 delightful cartoons! This fast and funny collection rises to the occasion with a crazy camping trip (Sasquashed), a chase through a carnival?s haunted house (Spook House Mouse), an Alaskan adventure (Northern Light Fish Fight) and an encounter with an abominable snow rodent (Snow Mouse). But the most outrageous moment of all comes when Tom and Jerry set aside their differences and join forces against beach muscleheads Spike and Butch in Beach Bully Bingo. Endless fun is the main course served up in this new all-family feast of animated fun.

My Thoughts:
Of course we love Tom and Jerry in our house!
As soon as Ninja saw the DVD he had to turn it on right then.
We all sat down with lunch and had a carpet picnic while
watching and laughing the funny cat and mouse duo.
This is a must have DVD for any kids collection.

Scentsy Review and Giveaway

I love candles.
I mean I really love candles and I am normally a
Yankee Candle snob.
My good friend turned me onto Scentsy a few months ago.
I love her for it because they are absolutely fabulous.
The thing I love the most about them besides
the many wonderful scents is that
Scentsy candles do not get hot.
Believe me I know too.
Kelsey my friend and now Scentsy consultant gave me
a plug in warmer to review along with some samples
to test out.
Well silly me thought that if it was hid conspicuously enough
then baby Hulk would not be able to find it.
HA!
Not only did he find it but when I found him he was splashing in
the melted candle.
I freaked out thinking oh gosh he's going to burn himself.
I grabbed him up spilled some on me and realized it wasn't even hot.
LOVE LOVE that it makes my entire house smell
AMAZING
and it is safe for my busy body boy who gets into everything.
(for the grandparents who just read this and freaked a little
the said plug in candle warmer is now high and out out of his reach)

Not only does Scentsy have amazing scents but there
warmers are pretty cute as well.
and look how cute this Christmas one is...
They also have the above mentioned
plug in warmers

Since Kelsey just began her Scentsy career she has
graciously offered one of my readers
a Plug-in of their choice as well a Scent bar of their choice.
A retail value of $25.
I am currently hosting a Kelsey's first show and would love to help
welcome her into the Scentsy world with big support.
If you purchase something from Kelsey before Friday October 7th
you will get 5 bonus entries into the giveaway.
Now is a great time to stock up on holiday scents and gifts.
Go here to have a look around.

Babar DVD (Review and Giveaway)

I remember growing up watching Babar and just loving the show.
I was so glad to see that I can now share some of my childhood
with my children with the
Babar School Days DVD.

Babar The Classic Series: School Days features four episodes about Babar’s own school day adventures as well as those of his friends and family.  In each tale Babar learns important
lessons on acceptance, honesty and patience. In “School Days”, Babar reminisces about his early education when he and his friends were picked on by the school bullies because they all looked “different”. But he soon realizes everyone should be proud of themselves because differences are what make everyone unique and special. In “Kings of the Castle” Babar and Lord Rataxes the rhino are convinced to trade places for the day, learning that it isn’t easy to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. In “Every Basket Has a Silver Lining” Babar’s son Pom, a towel boy on the basketball team, learns a valuable lesson about not lying about his playing status. In “Peer Pressure” King Babar recalls having to make a tough decision between loyalty to friendship and loyalty to the law.

Heelys Review

Long ago are the days of regular skates.
Now there are shoes that ARE skates.
Heelys are a skate within a shoe.
We actually bought a pair of Heely's a few years ago
for Carter when she was only 6.
Unfortunately she has her mothers balancing issues
and just couldn't get the hang of them.
When I saw the chance to give Heely's another try
I was super excited since now that Carter is older she
is better balanced.
Here are the Heelys I chose for Carter.

See how they look like regular tennis shoes?

Flip them over and you get this...

There is a place to pop out the cover for the wheels.
It even comes with a little tool to help do that.
Thanks Heelys for that otherwise I would have used my trusty
standby the butter knife.
Anyway, you just pop out that hole cover and pop in
the wheels and you have Heelys.

If you have never used Heelys before or your child has not
but you think they would be great to try out there is an
excellent video on the Heelys website that shows you
how to use your Heelys.

*I received a pair of Heelys to try out in return for a review of the product. I was offered this from Business 2 Blogger. I was not asked for a positive review just a fair and honest one.
