Thankful Thursday

This morning I have been sitting here
rewatching the final moments in
last nights American Idol.
Watching Scotty McCreery win
and his humbleness is amazing.

It has just made me think about how very blessed I am.

So today on this beautiful spring day
I am THANKFUL for

God's love
Healthy kids
A Wonderful Husband
My family
Friends (new and old)
Life in general
Sunshine outside finally
Talking with one of my baby brothers today
This picture my grandmother sent me last night
of me and my great grandmother
when I was only 1 week old.

Enjoy your day.
I am headed outside.
See you tomorrow bloggy friends!

Our weekend... the extented version :)

Prepare for picture overload
but after all this is a family blog.
However sorry in advance.

We had a great Easter.
Went to church and had a very good message.
Came home had a great Easter lunch with
good friends and then an egg hunt.

We dyed eggs Saturday night.
Hulk was totally amazed by dyeing eggs and then getting
to put them in his basket.
This was his first real Easter.
He was only 5 months old last year.

OK, time for picture overload....
I did warn you!

Dyeing Eggs

The Easter Bunny came..

My handsome hubby hiding eggs
We hid over 100 eggs for 6 kids to hunt
Getting ready to hunt the eggs
 My four babies
 My girls
 Getting everyone to look...
Yeah right.
Again so hard to get little Hulk to sit still
 Me and my hubby.
I know I am a white white girl.
Even self tanners don't help.
I've grown accustomed to being white. :(
 My little men

I hope you all had just as blessed an Easter as we did!

Happy Easter

I hope you all are having a
wonderful Easter Sunday.
We are going to be busy busy today.
We'll do the Easter baskets this morning
before heading into church to celebrate that
our Savior is alive!

Once we get home I will
 begin making our Easter dinner.
This year since we are far away from
family we will once again be
spending the day with friends.
That is one of my favorite things about being military.
Holidays spent with friends.
We will eat, have fun, hunt eggs and make lots of memories.

To all our family back home we miss and love
you all very much.
We wish we could be home with you on this
Easter Sunday.

To all our readers...

The Boys of Summer

Tuesday morning my hubby calls and asks if
we want to go to a Red Sox game?
Sure why not I tell him.
When?
Tonight or tomorrow?!
So we choose to go that night since it was Ninja's birthday.
We had a blast getting there and at the game.
Too bad they lost 3-2.

Here is an overload of pictures from the game...

We had a great time.
It really is a good thing that we aren't baseball fans.

Egg Hunts in the snow?

I am SO ahead of the game this year.
We went on our first Easter egg hunt
on Saturday at the chapel
here on base.
It was well to be honest
overwhelming!
Since it had snowed just the
day before and now was
a lovely 45 and gaining
everything was gross and melting.
Which of course meant they had
moved all of the activities indoors.
So there you had a lot of people
in a very semi-tiny room.
I was by myself with the kiddos
since DH had to work
and about oh 5 minutes in I was
really contemplating my sanity.
Like really who brings
4 kids to a place you've never
been before and by them self no less.
I know I know there are many
a better mom than me that
do it all the time
and normally I am good to go.
But as much fun as it was
I was SO overwhelmed by the people and the space
and wait where did Ninja go again? :)

Anyway, I got some really cute pictures
of the kiddos and they seemed to
have a blast so that 1 hour
yes I was only there 1 hour
seemed to be well worth the stress.

Stay tuned there will be
more Easter pictures to come!

ps... don't forget once I get to 500 followers
I am doing a $100 Visa gift card giveaway!
So pass me on.

The Joke's On Us!

No it is very much real.
All week I have been hearing about
the northeastern we were supposed to
be getting today.
I was hoping all week that it was a big
April Fools joke.

Does this look like a joke
to you?

Come on it is
April for goodness sake.
Yes, yes I know I wanted snow.
But in normal snow months.
Not April?!?!
And to top it off it's not even
the kind of snow you can out and play in.
It is a nasty wintery mix
(see how I had to say wintery in April)
of snow, rain and ice.
GROSS!
That is what it is just
GROSS!

For those of you that are actually enjoying
the benefits of spring
I am jealous!

Easter Wreath

While walking around Target last
weekend I found their
way too cute Easter egg wreaths
and fell in love.
Then quickly had to break things off
when I saw how much my love
was going to cost me...
$24.99

So instead I went and bought
these...

Ok, so I already had the
styrofoam wreath and glue gun
and I bought the eggs and grass at
Walmart instead.

But for a mere
$1.50 for eggs (I bought 2)
and $1.00 for the grass
I made my own
Easter egg wreath that I love
just as equally as the Target version.

I started a nice little pattern with the colors
and hot glued into they were all in place.

I even think of myself more as a crafter
now since I got my very
first hot glue gun burn.
I know I'm lame.

So to fill in all those gaping
holes I took the Easter grass
and dropped some hot glue
into the cracks and shoved the grass
in with a pencil.
It ended up looking like this...
I took some green and blue
polka dotted ribbon
and hung that thing on my door.

Start to finished and hanging on my front door
20 minutes.
I think it turned out cute.
Plus it only cost me $4.00

Love me some Easter and springy things!
Too bad we are supposed to get a
horrible northeastern Friday
with a possible foot of snow.
I sure hope this is an
April Fool's joke.
:(
