Back to School

So today is the day I've been waiting for right? Well, then why did I not want today to begin? Why have I been on the verge of tears all day? It probably has something to do with the fact that both my daughters are in full time school now. I mean I have a fourth grader and a Kindergartner. When did this happen? This morning that's when, you know the day I have been waiting all month for.

I did good though. I didn't cry at the school. I didn't cry on the walk out of the school, although I thought about it. I didn't cry once I got home and only had half my kiddos. I DID cry though once I started going through the picture to put on Facebook and to email grandparents. That was all it took. I saw my babies going into school and sitting down at those big scary desks with all those mean scary teachers and the tears started. Ok, so the desks aren't that big and their teachers are actually very nice but still.

So for your viewing pleasure and some more tears from me I'm sure, my two school aged girls!

A decade old....

Today is the day my first born was born, 10 years ago I became a mom. I am going to have so much fun bugging her about being old since she is a decade now and in double digits. She loves to bug me about being born in the 80's. GASP I'm so old, well now so is she! Here are some pictures of her last 10 years of life. Pardon the first couple pictures. Ok, so now that I've spent the last 15 minutes looking for these pictures I am a little misty eyed. Hasn't someone invented a potion yet to make these kids stop growing?!?!

Run Mackenzie Run

Yesterday they had a Armed Forces Run on the base. Free registration and a t-shirt for the participates. Well, running is turning out to be Mackenzie's sport and since it is hard to find anything that is organized track here for her we jumped on this. She did pretty good too considering she had to run 2 miles in 80 degree weather. She ran her 2 miles in 21 minutes 15 seconds.

And the winner is...

Mackenzie and Joey went to the McGuire's St Patrick's Day run on Saturday. She came in 3rd place in her age group! She was so proud. Guess we need to see about finding her some organized track for her age.
