Happy Verteran's Day! #ThankaVet

This year for Veteran's Day I want to
celebrate and thank all the Veteran's from our family
as well as the many friends we know.
Not to forget the many we do not know
and those that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Take a minute out of your day today to
Thank a Veteran for all they do
to keep the United States the greatest country
in the world!

I want to start off with my husband
who is not only self sacrificing but is one heck of a Marine!
Just being at the Marine Corps Birthday Ball

Who gets emotional over toys? This girl does!

Being in the military means we move
often.
Which thankfully means that it is
almost impossible to be a hoarder.
Every 2-3 years like clockwork we get
those moving orders and then I begin the
cleaning out process.

I almost always start with the easy things
clothes, toys, shoes, jackets.
Seasonal and holiday items are almost always next.
I'll donate, sell or just plain throw away
bags and bags of items.

Sitting here now beginning the get rid of
process, little Hulk asks to watch
Toy Story 3.
Sweet deal I think,
he can watch the movie while I go
through his 'baby' toys without the
"I want to keep that toy"
fight.

Radio City Rockettes

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved
the Rockettes.
I am not sure what it is about them
since I am not a dancer.
I watch them every Christmas season on television and have tried
for years to excite my daughters with them.

At the beginning of the month the hubby text
me to see if I wanted to go hang out with the
'rockets' that Friday.
After some confusion I figured out he really meant
the Radio City Rockettes.
Of course I jumped at the chance.
A date night with the hubby and the Rockettes.
Could life get any better?

Come to find out it kind of could.
Not only could I go with my Marine husband
who was going to escort the Rockettes in for their first
show in Boston but I could bring my daughters as well.

Needless to say Rosie was not having it since she wanted to
stay with our babysitter instead.
I really thought about getting her head checked.
LOL
Carter went with us though and is now a Rockette fan!

I could not take pictures during the show or in the theater at all
since the usher by us was nuts about
policy.
However, if you are ever in Boston the Wang Theater is a must visit place.
It is just gorgeous.

Here are some of the pictures from our night
with the Rockettes.

Happy 236th Birthday Marine Corps

Today is a special day in our family
besides the birthdays of baby hulk and my FIL.
(Happy Birthday Mr Joe)

Today is also the birthday of the
Marine Corps.
As a Marine Corps family it is a special day.

Next Saturday we will get all dressed up for
the birthday ball and enjoy the very old
traditions of the Marine Corps.

Today I am celebrating more than just
a Thursday.

Happy 236th Marines!

July 4th Recap (picture overlaod)

Let me start out this post by saying how
wonderful the city of Boston is!
I knew when we moved here I would fall in love with
the city but yesterday was above and beyond!

My hubby was on the joint services color guard for the
annual Boston Pops 4th of July event
which meant he was downtown both
Sunday and Monday nights.

I went with him last night and am SO glad I did.
We began our night at the USS Constitution where
all the branches practiced the color guard
performance.
Watching these men and women made me quite teary eyed.
There were lots of spectators around taking pictures of them
practicing and I felt very proud of them all
mostly my husband.

Here are some of the pictures from there...
(I warned you picture overload)

From there we had a police escort to the Esplanade
along the Charles river.
Can I tell you that if you have never had a police escort you are missing out!
The power of a finger pointing at you and police screaming at you to
MOVE gets things moved!
I have never in my life seen traffic part like that before.
It was awesome!

Once we got to the Esplanade the hubby had to leave us
to get prepared.
Our seats while waiting for the LIVE National broadcast were not too
shabby considering all the people there...

 Michael Chiklis
 Martina McBride

My wonderful hubby and the other wonderful
men and women of the joint services
color guard.

After the color guard my hubby ran into and got a
picture and autograph of the lovely
Martina McBride

Once it was almost time to go LIVE nationally
we were moved to the "mosh pit" as they called it.
I do not think we could have been any closer
other than being on stage...

Do you see that Marine that is MY hubby on TV!

Of course the 4th of July is nowhere near complete
without fireworks and Boston
knows how to put on a show!
If you were watching and saw them shoot a Marine and his wife watching the
fireworks that was US!

I hope everyone had as great a 4th of July as we did!
If you didn't notice we were sans kids last night.
Many Many thanks to my wonderful friend
Amanda for watching them for us while hosting
her BBQ. You are amazing!
Next year we are taking the kids with us!
It was nice to have some "grown up" time though.

Blizzard Bloghop

Welcome to my blog.
I started this blog almost a year ago so that family members could keep up with us
wherever we were stationed.

I am the wife of a US Marine and the mother of 4 children.
Lets just start out with me shall we...

I grew up a military brat myself and love the moving around and meeting new people.
It is very exciting to me to do all these things on the governments dime. :)
My hubby and I have been married for 8 years in March.

(I tend to make a lot of that face in pics)

We have 4 kiddos...
Carter who is 10 (fake names btw)

Rosie who is 6

Ninja who is almost 4

Hulk who is 1

Our life is busy crazy but we love it.
Most days we love it.

We just moved to Massachusetts from Florida.
Which is fun.
I love all the snow and cold.

Anyway, welcome to my blog.
Look around and make sure to come back by every so often.
