Kids Cooking- Extraordinaire Banana Pudding

Every now and then I get adventurous and let my kids come into the kitchen and "cook" something.
I am going to try to start letting this happen on a weekly basis and then capture it.
Last night while I was making vegetable soup (Rosie's favorite) I remembered
the bananas sitting on my counter. And I thought banana pudding would be good tonight.
So I called little Rosie in to make some banana pudding.
She loves making this and its so easy that she thinks that she has made something extraordinaire.

So here is Rosie's Extraordinaire Banana Pudding

Package of vanilla instant pudding
Nilla Wafers
3-4 Bananas
Cool Whip
Follow directions for banana pudding on the vanilla pudding box. :)
See I told you easy!

and let me tell you that is the BEST banana pudding ever! :)

Precious Moments Storybook Bible Review

Let me begin by saying that I am a huge fan of anything Precious Moments.
When Rosie was born her room was done int he Precious Moments baby bedding collection.
Her baby book is the 5 year Precious Moments baby book.
So when I saw the opportunity to do a review of the Precious Moments Storybook Bible I jumped on it.
I just knew that this Bible would be perfect for my little Hulk and I was right.

The Precious Moments Storybook Bible is a bible created for young children. It is broken into four different sections: Favorite Bible Classics, Words of Praise and Wisdom, More Stories of the Faith, and Songs & Prayers. The pictures in the book are just beautiful and fit so perfectly with the stories.
When I am trying to read the bible to my children there are a few things that I like to consider.

How easy are the stories going to be for my children to understand, how accurate are the stories and how is the book illustrated.
Now, I know that the pictures in a book should not be all that important however when it comes to children being able to fully understand something, sometimes they need a visual.
The stories in this Bible are just perfect for young readers. My children have enjoyed me reading the stories and learning more about God.

Another thing that I love about this Bible is the family history at the front. I love that one day when my children are all grown up they will still have in writing where they came from and who their past relatives were. I hope that one day my little Hulk will pass this Bible on to his child and so on. Bibles like this one are meant to be a family heirloom.

Can I be this crafty?

So I have a craft bug right now.
I really want to make some things and try to use this sewing machine
I pulled out of a box the other day.
I honestly had forgotten that I had the thing.
It had been sitting in the bottom of my linen closet for the last oh I don't know year or so.

Only problem is that I don't know where to begin.
My craftiness comes in the form of easy things that involve scrapbook paper and Mod Podge normally.
Some of the things I have been seeing that I want to make are easy enough to do with my normal crafty self.
But then there are these things that I want to try out myself.
Like a pillowcase dress for Rosie.
Like this one or something relatively easy for a first timer...
I have seen these adorable shirts for little boys that have a tie on them.
And since I have no shame in dressing my boys alike or similar I want to make them a few of these...

For my bigger girl I have a hard time thinking of things to make for her to wear since she is getting so much bigger and her opinions about her clothes are well hers and she only tends to wear skinny jeans a a fitted shirt with her boots or Converse.
I do know however that she loves to wear skirts when the weather is warm so I've been looking and found this little cutie and thought maybe I could attempt it.

I don't know what has come over me.
I have never wanted to be a sewer.
I have always despised the thought of having to sew a button back on or anything for that matter.
Now, however I have this overwhelming urge to sew something and have something to hold in my hands that I made. Something tangible that is not just taking up space somewhere.
Something that can be used over and over and worn and enjoyed.

I have been looking at fabrics and falling in love.
There are SO many patterns and prints to choose from out there.
It is a little overwhelming.
Here are just a few of my MANY favs...

Thankfully for me there is a Jo-Ann's Fabrics not far from me so I can go pick out some hopefully clearance fabrics and try my luck with a few of the clothing projects I want to create.
Stay tuned for the hits and misses that are sure to come.

I also have 2 more spaces for my Pay It Forward project.
So go check it out and let me know if you are interested.

I love a good deal...

I love it when I find a good deal.
I really LOVE it when I find a really GREAT deal!
While out exploring some of the shopping around here we went to TJ Max
now normally I tend to never find anything worth buying there.
However, this weekend I went in since I am on a desperate search for winter clothing for my kids that just would live outside in the piles and piles of snow.

Can I just say that I hit the jackpot?!?
Well, first off let me say that I found Ninja's suit at Sears but he was the only one I could find one for.
I got the snow suits for Carter, Rosie and Hulk at TJ Max and wow!
I can't believe they have that stuff on clearance already.
I almost felt guilty about buying it so cheap!

Here is Carter in her's that was around $25

Rosie in her's. The jacket was actually bought at Sears for like $25 maybe and then the bottoms were a steal really for $15. We went to Sports Authority looking for them as well and these same pants there were $120.
Plus she is so tiny that they will fit her next year unless she has a major growth spurt.

Here is Ninja's suit from Sears only like $25 I think...

And baby Hulk's that was only $20 for the bib snow pants and jacket.
Don't let the face fool you this boy LOVES the snow.

Snow boots have been hard to find in stores though but crafty mommy and daddy found all four of the kids some online for about $20 a piece. Some cheaper than that.

Now while we were walking up to check out I ran across these bad boys...

I have been wanting some of these Reebok EasyTone shoes for a while now.
What I have not wanted was to pay the pretty price of anywhere from $85 to $100 for them.
Come on now I am cheap.
We saw these exact shoes sitting on a shelf as we went to check out at TJ Max and my hubby looks at me and says what size are they?
Of course me being pessimistic most times when it comes to a good deal for myself says probably not mine.
Oh, but wait they were my size and were only $29!
Wait just a minute hold up whats wrong with them?
Nothing that we could see.
The hubby didn't even have to ask me if I was going to get them.
As I was sliding my foot back into my boots he was up at the counter buying snow suits and me some
Reebox EasyTones.
I knew I loved him for a reason! :)
