Freebies or next to it.

I love free stuff or next to free stuff.
In the last couple days I have gotten these 2 awesome items for
either free or darn near close.

See how happy baby Hulk is sitting there with his snack.
This is great now that we have fenced in our back yard.

I love this piece too and been looking for one for awhile.
I got it for a steal really.
Now my only question is what color to paint it?
Any ideas?

Have you gotten any good deals lately?
Lucky for me the same lady who I got both of these from
is having a big clean out and get rid of sale.
LOVE those!

Garden Bench

I have been on the lookout for a
cute but functional bench to put outside
my house.
Last night while out wasting time I found one.

Isn't she beautiful?
Upon further research of this bench I found out it is...

made in the USA
100% recycled product

Could it have gotten any better?
Well, yes it could.
I bought it on clearance and paid 80% off the manufacturers price.

The hubby said it was my month early birthday present.
Happy Early Birthday to me then!

Love them or Hate them?

thrift stores that is?
I LOVE finding a good deal.
In fact I regularly go out on the night before trash day
to 'scavenger hunt' as I like to think of it
looking for other people's "trash".
You know the old saying...

"One person's trash is another person's treasure"

I like to think I am a thrifty shopper.
I rarely pay full price for anything and when shopping
online always find some sort of coupon.
And I LOVE yard sales.
Something about barely used (and sometimes new)
expensive clothes for my kids for less than a $1 is a rush for me.

For every military base we have lived on there has always been
a thrift store run by one of the spouse's clubs.
Of course Hanscom is no exception and has one that is open very
selectively and has random hours.
So getting me in there seems to be few and far between.
A good friend of mine volunteers there and luckily for me snags me
items on occasion.
The thirft store was open today and I feel like
I got a hug bargain.
For a whopping total of $23 I got the following...

A doll nursery for Rosie
 Semi-Formal gown for the unexpected
 All these clothes.
Included are a pair of Gap jeans, Chidlren's Place pants, shirts from Aeropostle
And the deal of the day...
This Double jogging stroller by In Step for
$12.50
Also, not pictured since they are currently in play
2 plastic toy guns for the boys.
What can I say
"Boys will be boys"

Overall I am excited about my finds today and can not
wait to go on a walk this evening to try out the new
stroller.

Purex Complete Crystals Softener Review

 CLOSED

Laundry is my absolute least favorite chore.
I hate sorting it, moving it from washer to dryer,
folding it and mostly I really hate putting it away.
Like for real my kids rooms normally have
clean folded clothes sitting in piles everywhere.
See there is my "dirty little secret"
I have clean clothes folded hidden in closets when
unexpected guest come over.

One thing that annoys me to no end is
that when I clean my towels and go
to get one a few days after I wash them they have a
not so clean smell to them and they are kind of stiff.
That is where fabric softener comes in right?
Well, that is where it is supposed to come in.
Most brands that I have tried in the past don't hold up to
their promises on TV.
Just saying...

I was recently sent some Purex Complete Crystals to try out
and I LOVE them.
Here is a little bit of info for you all:
WHAT IT IS > UNIQUE CRYSTAL FORM, 92% NATURAL FABRIC SOFTENER
Introducing Purex® Complete Crystals SoftenerTM*; a purer way to get laundry that
smells clean and fresh for weeks. 92% natural, this product’s unique crystal form works
differently than traditional oil-based softeners that coat fabrics with oily residue, because
it infuses fibers with long-lasting fragrance. In addition, since you add it directly with your
laundry, this means no more waiting for the rinse cycle, no messy residual gunk in your
washing machine, and no more stains from spilling liquid fabric softener.
HOW IT’S USED > ADDED WITH LAUNDRY AT THE START OF THE WASH CYCLE
Why struggle with plastic fabric softener balls, risk staining your clothes or waste time
waiting for the rinse cycle? Simply add Purex Complete Crystals Softener directly with
your laundry at the beginning of every wash cycle to infuse fabrics with long lasting
freshness.
HOW IT WORKS > CRYSTALS DISSOLVE INFUSING FABRICS WITH FRESHNESS
Laundry scent lovers will perk up as freshness is infused into clothes with this new fabric
softener. Over time, traditional oil-based softeners coat fibers causing harmful oily
residue to accumulate. Purex Complete Crystals Softeners penetrate fabrics to reduce
fiber entanglement and smooth frayed fibers providing a naturally soft feel.
WHY IT’S DIFFERENT > SAFE FOR ALL LAUNDRY AND BETTER FOR FABRICS
Do ALL of your laundry—worry free! Purex Complete Crystals Softeners are safe for
all laundry and will not harm, wear down or discolor your fabrics like oil-based softeners.
Safe for all fabrics, including baby clothes, athletic wear, towels, and whites. Unlike other
softeners, Crystals WILL:
• Preserve the flame retardant benefits of your children’s clothes
• Retain your athletic wear’s wicking ability which draws sweat away from your body
• Maintain your towels’ built-in ability to absorb water
• Keep your white clothing from yellowing and graying vs. using traditional softeners
The product won’t harm your clothes and is safe and convenient for the entire family!
VARIETIES > ON-TREND SCENTS
Purex Complete Crystals Softener is available in three on-trend fragrances: Fresh
Spring Waters TM, Lavender Blossom TM, and Tropical Splash. TM

Now who wants to win some?
One lucky reader will win a coupon for 2 FREE bottles of Purex Complete Crystals!
Mandatory Entry:
Tell me something you learned from above.

I love a good deal...

I love it when I find a good deal.
I really LOVE it when I find a really GREAT deal!
While out exploring some of the shopping around here we went to TJ Max
now normally I tend to never find anything worth buying there.
However, this weekend I went in since I am on a desperate search for winter clothing for my kids that just would live outside in the piles and piles of snow.

Can I just say that I hit the jackpot?!?
Well, first off let me say that I found Ninja's suit at Sears but he was the only one I could find one for.
I got the snow suits for Carter, Rosie and Hulk at TJ Max and wow!
I can't believe they have that stuff on clearance already.
I almost felt guilty about buying it so cheap!

Here is Carter in her's that was around $25

Rosie in her's. The jacket was actually bought at Sears for like $25 maybe and then the bottoms were a steal really for $15. We went to Sports Authority looking for them as well and these same pants there were $120.
Plus she is so tiny that they will fit her next year unless she has a major growth spurt.

Here is Ninja's suit from Sears only like $25 I think...

And baby Hulk's that was only $20 for the bib snow pants and jacket.
Don't let the face fool you this boy LOVES the snow.

Snow boots have been hard to find in stores though but crafty mommy and daddy found all four of the kids some online for about $20 a piece. Some cheaper than that.

Now while we were walking up to check out I ran across these bad boys...

I have been wanting some of these Reebok EasyTone shoes for a while now.
What I have not wanted was to pay the pretty price of anywhere from $85 to $100 for them.
Come on now I am cheap.
We saw these exact shoes sitting on a shelf as we went to check out at TJ Max and my hubby looks at me and says what size are they?
Of course me being pessimistic most times when it comes to a good deal for myself says probably not mine.
Oh, but wait they were my size and were only $29!
Wait just a minute hold up whats wrong with them?
Nothing that we could see.
The hubby didn't even have to ask me if I was going to get them.
As I was sliding my foot back into my boots he was up at the counter buying snow suits and me some
Reebox EasyTones.
I knew I loved him for a reason! :)

How I wish I paid more attention

to that little old lady who tried to teach my to crochet when I lived in San Antonio.  I was a strange child growing up, I made friends with a little old lady one day while checking the mail at the apartment complex we lived at in SA. I would go over to her apartment and talk with her and she tried to teach me to crochet. being the child I was I really didn't pay very much attention to the woman. Now, that I am a grown adult and would love to be able to sit down and make gorgeous knit hats for my kids, I wish I'd paid more attention.

I mean really, I am seriously drooling over these adorable beanies over at Imomzi on Etsy. I mean look how cute these are really...

Do you know how warm my babies heads would be in these?
These would make excellent Christmas presents for your children too. They are very reasonably priced from $15 to $18. Or if you unlike me already know how to knit then you can buy the pattern for a very cheap $5 and do it yourself!

Oliver's Label- Review

Having as many kids as I do sometimes things seem to get misplaced or lost. Sometimes things seem to start an argument. You know how it goes...

Kid 1 "That's my cup"
Kid 2 "No that one is MY cup"
Kid 1 "NOOOOO" (something thrown and a someone hit)
Kid 2 'I'm telling Mom"
Kid 1 and 2 (only thing they can agree on) "MOOOOOMMM"

All this would have been solved so easily if only I had magic label to help these wonderful children identify their own belongings.  Oh, wait I do! Thanks to to wonderful people at Oliver's Labels.

Now I can stick a cute little label on everything that belongs to each kid and not have to worry about THAT argument.Plus, they are waterproof so that means when I put that label on that sippy cup stick it in the dishwasher and run it with hottest of hot water and high heat (which I did) the label is still securely attached to the cup. There is no peeling away or edges coming up. Nothing just the same pretty label I put on from right off the sheet.

Now, i know I have been all about how great the sippy cup labels are but you know what they have labels that can stop almost every "that's mine" sibling fight. That's right Mom's and Dad's you can get a label from Oliver's Labels for shoes, clothes, backpacks, sunglasses, pencils, and toothbrushes. You can even get labels that have your child's picture on it. Now, tell me that wont stop a fight dead in 1 second. I can just see it now...

Kid 1 "That's my toy"
Kid 2 " No, it's mine"
Super Mom to Kid 1 "Does that LOOK like you?"

Haha score 1 for the mom!

Not only does Oliver's Labels have these awesome labels but they come in so many designs and colors. There are dinosaurs, butterflies, transportation, sports and then they have the allergy labels. Which personally I think are awesome. I do not have any children (yet) with that are allergic to anything other than cleaning (and there's no label for that) however my nephew has a dairy allergy and I think the labels would be great for him since he just started daycare.

Oh, and one more awesome thing about Oliver's Labels, you can get a tracking code put on your labels for NO additional cost. So that if your sippy or favorite stuffed animal gets lost and someone finds it they can go to Oliver's Labels website and put in the tracking number and presto you are saved from the tears!

Christmas Cards...

I personally love sending out and receiving Christmas cards. I used to go to Target or Wal-Mart after Christmas to get good deals on boxed cards which were always great. That is until I found out how much I love getting pictures of other peoples kids and families during Christmas. When I made my first set of personalized Christmas cards I loved them and so did everyone I sent them too. My grandma called me to tell me how everyone that comes into her home compliments her on her adorable great grandchildren.

So as time approaches for me to order my Christmas cards I have started looking for sites that do great work. I always seem to go back to Shutterfly. I absolutely love their many many designs to choose from and I do not just mean for Christmas. I ordered my son's birth announcements from the last year and still am in love with them! The cards designs they have at Shutterfly are absolutely gorgeous!

Shutterfly has everything you could ever ask for in stationary. They have so many designs for Christmas cards that I know it is going to take me a while to decide which card to use. I love how they have cards that can be made personal to my family but also be relevant to the reason we celebrate Christmas in the first place. I love their religious Christmas cards. In fact many of my choices this year are from this section. I am really thinking about getting this card...

They also have holiday story cards. Which I just think are really cool. I love the idea of letting everyone know how our year went in pictures. Plus, it would save me so much time not having to write it all out in the family newsletter I have been meaning to do for like the last 4 years. :)

Not only does Shutterfly have awesome cards but they have great deals as well. Like right now Shutterfly is offering 20% off all holiday cards

* All opinions in this post are my own and are honest based on what I believe to be true. I am being offered Christmas cards from Shutterfly for writing this review.

Christmas is near...

Ok, so I get it that it is only October 5th and there should not be Christmas stuff out in stores yet but guess what there is. I for one am so excited to see Christmas stuff out already. It really makes me want to get Joey in the attic to get my Christmas tree down so I can put it up. Almost! And you know I probably totally would if I knew that keeping Elliot away from the tree would be an easy task. However, i know my baby boy all to well and we have a hard time leaving Mommy's books and picture frames alone let alone something that shines and glitters. So we will wait it out until at least November. :)

Did you know Christmas is only

Sorry I totally had to do that. Everyone needs to know how many more days they have left to shop, get it all wrapped, decorate, make cookies and shop right? :) Maybe that's just me. Well, this year I have actually already started and am on a pretty good roll. Only problem I have is that I already have more for one kid than for the other 3. In fact one child has nothing at all yet. Bad mommy! Good thing I have my ticker to tell me how many more days I have left to buy for said child.

Some of my best finds so far this year have been a FREE Disney Cars Scooter, Beauty and the Beast with a $10 off coupon making it $14 for the Blue Ray and DVD combo set and some FREE Bath and Body works lotion. I love good deals on anything but free is always great! Have you found any good deals or won any give-a-ways that you are using as Christmas gifts? What are your children asking for this year?

OMGosh do I want to live in NYC. Ok, so I do not want to live there year round. Just from mid-November until New Year! Oh, how I dream of one day going to the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade. I so love Thanksgiving and getting up to watch the parade on TV. I still love to watch the parade every year. I try so hard to get my kids to enjoy it as much as I do and nothing. They just don't care to watch but for about 5 minutes or so.

So aside from the Thanksgiving Day parade, I want to live in NYC for the Christmas festivities. Going down to Studio 1A in Rockefeller Center and freezing my butt off with the hosts of the Today Show. (I really realize how lame I sound and how not from NYC I sound too) Going to watch them light the huge behind Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. Ice skating (not that I know how to do that well), walking through Central Park with the cold and yes I know it's cold snowy days!

See how pretty is that?
And of course what could be the best ending to the holiday season of course the New Years Eve celebration in Times Square. And yes I know how crazy that is and yes how dangerous. Let me say that even if I lived in NYC I do not know if I would actually go to Times Square for New Years Eve. We went to the Chick-fil-a Bowl in December of 2008 in Atlanta Ga (yes I know NYC is way bigger) and after the game went to the downtown New Years celebrations. They were having a peach drop, it is Georgia! I thought we were going to be stampede. I mean really people kept pushing to get closer to the peach, yes we were some of those people but once you realize you can't go any further the most common sense thing to do is turn around and go back. Well, with people pushing try to go both directions it got a little out of hand. People were falling down and getting stepped on and we were right in the middle of it. UGH so it may have unfortunately made it where I will never go to NYC's New years Eve but if I actually lived there who knows what I could talk myself into....

So what are your plans this year for the holidays? We are going to go home and spend the time with family. Since within the year we will be moving and we never know how close we will be. My only wish for this holiday season would be that I could get to see all of my nieces and my nephew. I know it is not possible with them living all of the world but a girl can dream right?

Yard Sales

Oh, how I love yard sales. You can find some really cool things or some really good deals. It's normally one or the other for me. I either get the cool stuff or I get great deals. A few weeks ago I went and found clothes for Madison that hadn't been worn for a quarter! Not that the child needs a lot of clothes but for a quarter who can say no? Not me! I also found and bought her a suede jacket for cooler weather for a DOLLAR! Can you tell I'm still excited about that one? haha So today I went out again in hopes of finding some good deals or cool stuff. I got all this for 8 dollars!

The shirt and shoes are mine. The ties were just too cute not to get for Nealon and one day be handed down to Elliot. The books were 50 cents. Pride and Prejudice for 50 cents, that's a classic for super cheap! And then to adorable memory keeper for Mackenzie was just too cute to pass up. I can't make one for the the low low price of 2 dollars I paid for it.

But can I just say again how much I am in LOVE with the shoes. Like I think I may now love them more than my husband. It's ok I already told him and he's ok with that. LOL I mean just look at them again....

I can totally hear Kelly Pickler singing now all about her Red High Heels...

Oh you can watch me walk if you want to, want to
I’ll bet you want me back now don’t you, don’t you
I’m about to show you just how missin’ me feels
In my red high heels

Books Books and more Books

So lately I have started reading more. You'd think being almost 28 I'd be reading something important or older literature. Well, you'd be wrong. No thanks maybe one day I'll feel the need to read the "classics" but for now I get my kicks reading about Vampires or Immortals. Seriously like my favorite type books right now. Only thing is most of these books are series, meaning I'm shelling out like 10-12 dollars per book. Which if you think about it gets pretty ridiculously expensive considering I have 4 kiddos. So I looked online for a book exchange or swap. Well the one I found I LOVE! All you have to do is create your account and then add the books, movies, video games and music that you are no longer using and in seconds you have all these options to trade with other people. best thing is you are saving money and the environment. Making your carbon footprint smaller with every exchange. So if you have a serious reading addiction and want to save some money then check it out...

I'm pulling a well ME!

It has long become a ongoing joke with one of my dear bestie that I order pizza way too much. The reason we say that is because I get VIP coupons in the mail form Domino's offering me free pizza or really cheap pizzas. I get super excited to get my red envelope in the mail from them too. So my dear friend Amanda has dubbed ordering pizza for dinner, "Pulling a Kristen". So tonight I am "Pulling a Me". :)

Swim Suit WHAT?

Swim suit season already. Wasn't it just swim suit season and I was safe because I was preggers and it didn't matter if my body didn't look up to par. Well, I suppose I have to don a bathing suit again this year since I do live by the beach and my kids see it on a daily basis and have already begun to ask to go. So with that said I was brave and thought I'd just order one over the internet and save myself the bathing suit trying on in store. This way if it doesn't fit I just have to send it back and try again. So what I went for was this super cute little stripped bikini, yes I said bikini and I've had four kids, from Victoria's Secret. I was in there with the bestie last month to buy some super cute 5 for $25 undies and got a Secret Rewards card. Now normally I just trash that stuff since it never does me any good to keep them. Anyway around April 1st I got an email reminding me to check my Secret Rewards card balance (yes I'm that cool that I get emails from VS). To my amazement my rewards card had $50 on it. WHOO HOO! My hubby was all happy thinking I was gonna use it to buy some sweet bedroom stuff for him. HA try again I ordered some shoes and then this cute little bikini. Lets hope it's not that little once it gets here. So here you go the bikini I ordered on another body that makes the bikini look way better than it will on my white pasty skin. Even the spray on tan wont make my body this hot.
