Book Review from BookSneeze

So I recently came across the book review place for people with blogs. I am always interested in getting and reviewing a product. I went onto the website and signed up and then looked at the available books. I picked the book Jesus Calling 365 Devotions for Kids. When I got the book in the mail I was super excited to look through and read some of the devotions. The book is super cute with every date being displayed in the corners and then with the title of the days lesson and then bible verse. There is a quick interpretation of the bible verse put into simpler terms for children. Then some on your own bible verses. As I sit here and type this page 115 falls open into my lap and stares me in the face...

I Won't Leave You- Ever

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
-Deuteronomy 31:6

Do not be afraid, for I am with you- always! No matter what happens, I will never abandon you. Think about that. Let that soak into your mind and heart.

If you get angry and say something you shouldn't- I'm still with you.

If you take the easy way out and tell a lie to cover up something you did wrong- I'm still with you.

If you forget about Me and try to live life the way you want to- I'm still with you.

Sometimes the things you do will make Me happy. Sometimes the things you do will make Me sad. But there is nothing you can do that will ever make Me leave you.

This just sticks out to me that not only kids but sometimes even adults need to know that God loves us and will NEVER leave us no matter what we do! I think this book will make a great asset to my children's lives. Right now I think that I will have to read the devotion and then make it a little more kid friendly since my kids are still so young but one day they will be able to reread them and understand the devotions on a different level! It is a wonderful book and if you get the chance you should check it out!

5 dollar... 5 dollar...

Oh come on.... how is that NOT funny! Gotta love that Spencer's sells baby clothes. For the record I didn't actually buy this. But how about this old one that Nealon had bought by the same person. And a sure hand me down for Elliot.

Just call me Betty Crocker

So I have been sitting here all day trying to figure out whats for dinner?
Tacos or lasagna I text the hubby...
Wait
Wait

Wait

Nothing so I text him again and get a quick response of lasagna which is what I was going to make if he didn't text me back this time. I love lasagna with garlic bread and salad! SO good! See how yummy it looks...

Then as my kids have begun asking everyday "whats for desert?". I decided to make a homemade pineapple upside down cake. Not really sure how it is going to turn out since I am used to making them from a box. However, I am really trying to start baking from scratch more and more. I think it looks and taste delicious what I sampled anyway. How does it look to you?

What are you having for dinner?

New things to come...

So we found out Friday that Joey would be getting promoted sometime in the next year. Super excited for him and the promotion. We went out to a luau on Friday night and he kept getting all these congratulations which to me means that people actually think he deserves the promotion. So with that said and his reenlistment around the corner where we are moving to next has been the topic of conversation around our house on a daily basis. Where we will be going next and when will we actually be moving? I have been moving around since I was born being that I grew up an Army Brat so moving to me is easy peasy and very exciting. What is not exciting is having to wait and wait to figure out where and when we will be moving. I am a planner and need to know how long I have to start cleaning out closets and getting rid of unnecessary items. I need to look into things like the schools my kids will be going to, the college I plan on enrolling in ASAP as I am going back to school and plan on getting my degree ASAP, churches there that we can attend and plenty of other necessary things that our day to day life need you know like Target! :) I gotta have some shopping. I mean by no means am I really a shopaholic but some isn't going to kill a girl is it? But I guess all my worrying and planning is only going to get me so far. God is going to send us wherever he feels we need to be at this time on our life. Everything is already mapped out in our lives and all we have to do is be patient, pray and wait for God to bless us with his love. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and everything that we do is part of our destiny and path of life. I am ready to move on from this place we live now as I have never been fond of the area. Not enough to do unless you are a beach person which I am NOT. I will deeply miss our church that we go to and the people there. Liberty is just a big family it seems like to me and I mean big. There are always things you miss from every duty station but I truly believe that we moved here so that I could find Liberty Church. Ok, so before this turns into a sad sappy post I'll post a new picture of me. I never post of myself but then again I rarely take pictures of myself. And stay tuned for where God and the military send us next.

I was eating pop rocks which really taste nasty now that I'm older! And yes, I know that picture is horrible but if you can't laugh at yourself then who can you laugh at?

Smile you are Beautiful

Isn't that just something everyone wants to see on a daily basis? I saw this on a friends 365 project and had to find out more about it. So there is this website that tells you to write it out on a Post It note and place in a public place telling someone that they are beautiful or gorgeous. Something so simple yet so powerful. I think as a woman who has had some self esteem issues growing up this is a wonderful way to help out other women in need. So if you see me in a bathroom with my Post It notes don't think I'm crazy just pay it forward and leave a note or two yourself.

Pinkalicous Details

So I know I posted yesterday about the birthday girl but thought that I would post some of the PINK details. I know you are all dying to see how it all turned out... Oh and I have no clue how to make those nice little picture collages so its just going to be a bunch of pictures.

The Invite

The Yummy food! Which was of course strawberries, pink lemonade, pink sugar cookies, Pinkalicious cupcakes, grapes, pink malt balls, and then for the green foods some pickles, carrots and olives.
My pink play dough for goody boxes

The decorations. My MIL made the beautiful tissue balls hanging from the ceiling.

The birthday banner I made for Madison
I thought it turned out pretty cute. The most important thing was that at the end of the day Madison came up to me and said it was her best party ever! So there you go I did something right! :) Now to start planning that oh so important 1st birthday of Elliot's coming up in November.

Happy 6th Birthday Madison Faith!

Today is my youngest daughter Madison's 6th birthday! Where has the time gone? I know we as mothers say it all the time but I really feel like I just had her. She has started kindergarten this year, has a loose tooth and now can use 2 whole hands to tell people how old she is. :( Well, as with the other kiddos here is a trip down memory lane of past birthdays.

My gorgeous little girl just 3 days old!

Smashing her 1st birthday cake!

2 years old and into everything!

Bouncing in the bounce house for number 3!

The 4 year old beauty...

She's a whole hand!

Blessed

I am so blessed. I know it on a daily basis but I never really say it out loud. I have four healthy babies, a great husband, a wonderful family and some of the best FOR-EVER friends a girl could ask for. I sit here drinking a cup of coffee in a nice house with a nice car in the driveway, some food in my kitchen and some money in the bank accounts. I am blessed! Do I have everything I want? No. But do I have everything I need YES and so much more. I was talking with my husband the other day about all the people that stand on street corners asking for donations and handouts. I have decided that I am going to buy a case of water for my car and make and bring sandwiches with me when I go out to run my errands. If I happen upon a person in need I am going to pay it forward. So for those of you that actually read my ramblings I challenge you to do the same thing. Pay it forward. We all hear that all the time but how many of us actually do that? It can be something as simple as a smile and a kind word, making and handing out sandwiches and bottle of water, mowing your elderly neighbors yard, volunteering at a homeless shelter or food bank. As I sit here and listen to K-Love Radio this morning the song Human by Natalie Grant comes to mind as I type this blog and as I think it the song begins! A sign from God? Maybe... a few lines from that sing.

Every life has choice To rise above To fill the void
Every heart has a mission And we are called to be human
We gotta do better than this

Cause we’ve only got one life to make a difference
We gotta do better than this
Cause we’ve only got on life that we’ve been given
A little love, a little kindness, A little light in this time of darkness
It’ll be what makes us different
I’ll be what makes us human

Birthday Party Central

As Saturday approaches and Madison's birthday party gets closer and closer I have so many things finally coming together. Here are a few pictures from my first couple finished projects.

The start of her birthday banner. Let me tell you this thing was not at all hard just more a pain in my non blonde butt. You'd think I would know to reverse some of the letters so they look normal once flipped. HA nope not me!

I think she is pretty happy with it. Now all I need to do is hang it up. Which wall to hang it on though I'm not sure yet. The other thing i have completed is the pink play dough for the goody boxes. Making play dough was fun, dirty work but fun. I have pink hands from the food coloring. But who doesn't love pink right? :)

Dawgs... oh yeah I said it..

So in my post of everything fall that I love I totally forgot to mention one of my favorite things about fall College Football. I love it! I know most women are just like whatever which is how I am about the NFL (don't get me wrong I'll watch it too) but there is just something about watching college football. It is still fun for them. Yeah some of them are getting paid and getting things illegally I might add but for the majority of them it is just plain fun. I have my favorite team but I will watch any games. Saturday night I watched the LSU Tigers against University of North Carolina. The game was great at the end. I am of course all about UNC winning just because my parents are freaking out that LSU might actually loose. They are BIG LSU fans and they almost lost that game at the end with dumb mistakes. I thought my dad was gonna have a small heart attack. When they did win I thought I was going to pee myself laughing at my mom and dad doing a chest pound together. This year there will be no real rival for me and my parents as our teams don't play each other. So there will be none of this for us this year minus my preggo belly...

On the other hand there will be the every year rival game for me and my husband this year. Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate is the nickname for the collage rivalry between the Ga Tech Yellow Jackets and the Georgia Bulldogs. Or in our house the game of the year. Whoever looses has to hear about it until next year. You know kind of like this... how them DAWGS beat those Jackets last year 30-24!! We even have the flag up already even though our rivalry game is not until November 27th. Joey has it Ga Tech side on top since he thinks they are better. Even though I like it this way a lot better!

So here it is football season has begun and I am so happy about it. Ask me on Saturday during Madison's birthday party how happy I am about it and I may sing a different tune. But the poor girl was born right at the beginning of the season. There is a game on every year during her party. Like this week when both Ga Tech and Ga will be playing at 11am. GO DAWGS!!!
